Amery’s downtown gets a change in scenery

A well-known mural on the side of Ruby Mae’s Treasures will be getting a face lift. After several decades, the mural was taken down by the city. Now, the owners of Ruby Mae’s Treasures want to bring back the iconic scene.

“The mural that had been on the side of our building, from my understanding, it had been up there for 30 plus years and had been made by an Amery High School Art class,” said Nancy Anderson, owner of Ruby Mae’s Treasures.  “It was made on plywood and had been deteriorating and the City of Amery took it down and we would like to have it replaced. We think that it was an icon for the city of Amery and that it welcomed people as they came into town and citizens of Amery thought of it as something that they enjoyed too.”
