St. Croix County

St. Croix County, part of the 16-county Minneapolis/St. Paul MSA, offers business and industry an attractive setting , major metropolitan appeal and favorable business conditions. 

Plastics and distribution continue to experience growth in the county. Phillips-Medisize, a Molex Company, a provider of manufacturing services to the medical device industry, is expanding its facilities in St. Croix County in Hudson and New Richmond. Phillips-Medisize, a Molex Company is a major employer in the county along with OEM Fabricators, SMC Ltd., Bosch Packing Technology, Nolato Contour and Vital Plastics.

A highly skilled, educated labor force contributes to the economic vitality of the county, which is home to the University of Wisconsin-River Falls Hudson Center and Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College-New Richmond campus.

Highway accessibility on Interstate 94, U.S. Highways 12 and 63, and State Highways 35, 46, 64 and 65 benefits both businesses and citizens in St. Croix County, where an estimated 50% of residents commute to jobs in outlying areas, many in Minnesota. Construction of the St. Croix River Crossing, a one-mile long bridge spanning the St. Croix River from St. Joseph, Wis., to Oak Heights, Minn., will be complete in mid-2016, further improving travel efficiency between west central Wisconsin and the Twin Cities area.

St. Croix County ranks number one in Wisconsin for population growth.  Visitors and residents alike enjoy unique dining and shopping on the historic main streets of the key communities of Hudson, New Richmond, River Falls, Baldwin, Hammond, North Hudson, Roberts, Somerset and Woodville. The Kinnickinnic, Willow, Apple and St. Croix Rivers shape the county’s western border, providing natural beauty and recreational opportunities along with a vibrant state and county park system, and cycling trails.
